Different mechanisms of transformation of Kopplungen (Interlinking) generate different grades of synchronisation of light, movement and sound. With this exhibition of LAb[au] the Kunst Station St. Peter, who exhibited works by Francis Bacon, Joseph Beuys or Anish Kapoor, will show for the first time art works dealing with generative art and interactive media. The installations of the artists group emphasise on the relationship of art, technology and space, here in the context of the church building. In this exhibition they show the kinetic interactive sculpture f5x5x5 - an installation with 125 mobile frames - in addition with prints that transform the generative processes of the installation into an abstract composition. Furthermore the installation EOD02, which is based on the transformation of electric signals from fishes into light and sound, will be shown as well as the software sculpture SwarmDots whose esthetical concept is related to the swarm behaviour of living creatures. The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue and a CD of the concert Kopplungen.

It is a collaboration with MediaRuimte, the showroom of LAb[au], in the context of Art Brussels and takes place at: MediaRuimte, Lakensestraat 104 / 104 Rue de Laeken, BE- 1000 Brussels. Artists: Frieder Nake, Manfred Mohr, Vera Molnar, Mark Wilson and Jean-Pierre Hébert Plotterdrawings are based on an algorithm written by the artist which is the underlying concept of the work. The drawing is then executed by an ink pen, driven by the computer. This technique was used to create the early computer art works in the 1960/70s. But even nowadays, in the age of inkjet and laser printers, there are still enthusiasts who use the plotter for creating art. The plotterdrawing added a new and unforeseen position to the field of drawings which were until then mostly done by hand. Unfortunately this technique has already become obsolete and it will not take long until the last line will be drawn by a plotter. The exhibition is curated by Wolf Lieser of Gallery [DAM]Berlin.
